Hay Burr Inn Equine Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. These are donation-based fundraisers to help with the care and upkeep of the horses and donkey.
Your DONATIONS are greatly appreciated for us to continue to rescue equines and give them a second chance to enjoy life and just be a horse.
For event information, please text or call 860.932.2092. We appreciate your understanding as we are all volunteers and on event day we are busy preparing and may not be able to answer or reply within the same day. If your question is regarding the event, please refer to the information here first. Thank you and we can't wait to see you.
Wear shoes or boots. NO sandals, flip flops, or heels. That includes children.
No smoking, vaping or alcohol on the property.
We respectfully request for you to leave your animals at home for cross-contamination concerns.
Please patiently wait for the red gate to open for entrance to the event. The gate is to keep the horses safe on the property.
We do offer private tours by appointment all year round for a donation.

Join us for a special Acoustic Evening at Hay Burr Inn on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 7 PM to 10 PM! Enjoy live music from talented local duos Steven & Rachel and Sean & Mindy, featuring Mindy, a singer from last year's band, Heartland. Treat yourself to delicious home cooking by Ray's Catering while supporting a great cause. This rain or shine fundraiser directly benefits the care of our rescued equines.
Tickets are $18 online until noon on September 20th, and $25 at the door. This is a family-friendly, smoke-free event; please no alcohol or outside pets. We are gathering to remember our Java Joe. Joe was beautiful inside and out. He was one of the first horses at the farm. Joe was part of our family before the barn was built and before HBI became non-profit. He was one of the reasons we started to rescue. His presence will be sorely missed.
