Recruiter

Volunteer Position Brief:

The volunteer role requires a competent individual to recruit for all positions open for the organization. Volunteers or Staff do not necessarily come in with the knowledge about equines or the applied role. The goal is to ensure that our organization has a pipeline of applicants to fill the growing needs of the organization to fulfill its missions.


Responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment & Vetting:

    • Sourcing and recruiting volunteers through various techniques (networking sites, e-mail campaigns, social media, attending volunteer expos or fairs etc.) 

    • Connecting with organizations for volunteer opportunities

    • Attend fundraising events 

  • Records: 

    • Maintain postings with the most current version of the latest positions needed for the organization on organization’s website and other posting sites.

    • Ensure the applications are up to date to the most current versions. 

    • Provide reports to the Board of Directors upon request

  • Retention:

    • Clearly communicate the purpose of the organization, responsibilities, and expectation of volunteers

  • Keeping to the Mission of Hay Burr Inn Corp

How to Become a Recruiter

Desired Attributes 

  • Proven experience in similar position

  • Experience in volunteering locally

  • Experience in recruiting through various channels

  • Working knowledge of database management and Google Drive Applications

  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse people

  • Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities

  • A pleasant, outgoing personality
